My teaching experience at the University of Duhok was a significant academic milestone that enriched my professional expertise and broadened my research and educational horizons.

Since 2014, I have been teaching in the Department of Social Studies at the College of Education, University of Duhok, where I taught several geography courses, including the geography of the Americas and the geography of Iraq. This phase continued until 2018. This experience provided me with the opportunity to work with students from diverse disciplines, simplify geographical concepts, and connect them to the geographical, political, and economic realities of different societies. It also allowed me to develop students' analytical, comparative, and deductive reasoning skills.

Since 2019, I have continued my teaching career in the Department of Geography at the same College of Education, where I have taught more specialized courses, including industrial geography, the geography of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and natural and human resources. At this stage, I focused on developing modern teaching methods, encouraging students to think critically and analyze scientifically, in addition to linking the curriculum to contemporary developmental, economic and environmental issues, in order to prepare academic cadres capable of understanding geographical challenges and dealing with them scientifically.

Participating in scientific conferences and academic seminars is one of the most important forms of scientific activity in university life, as it provides opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences and to learn about the latest research trends in the field. In this context, my academic participation at the University of Duhok was a natural extension of my research and teaching interests, and it contributed to enhancing my engagement with contemporary geographical issues and developing my scientific perspective.

I participated in several scientific conferences organized at the University of Duhok during 2014 and 2018 in the College of Arts and Humanities, Department of Geography. These conferences addressed diverse geographical topics related to regional development and spatial transformations. They provided an important opportunity to learn about various research experiences and to discuss scientific issues that contribute to the development of geographical research locally and regionally.

I also attended a number of scientific seminars and workshops that focused on environmental issues, sustainability, and regional resilience—topics that have become increasingly important in contemporary geographical studies. These activities have contributed to deepening my understanding of environmental and developmental challenges, and enhancing awareness of the importance of sustainable planning and natural resource management in light of environmental and economic changes.

My academic and research interests revolve around a number of contemporary geographical issues related to economic, demographic, and developmental transformations, with a focus on employing modern methodologies and spatial analysis tools in studying geographical phenomena. These interests stem from the conviction that geography has become an analytical science that contributes to understanding societal, economic, and environmental changes, and supports planning and decision-making.

The field of economic and human geography is one of my main research areas, through studying the spatial distribution of economic activities and populations, analyzing the relationship between resources and regional development, and investigating developmental disparities, demographic shifts, and patterns of population stability.

Issues of migration and integration also occupy a significant place among my scientific interests. I focus on studying the causes of migration, patterns of migrant and displaced persons distribution, and the challenges associated with social and economic integration in societies experiencing rapid demographic changes.

Sustainable development is a central focus of my research, encompassing the study of natural resource investment, environmental protection, and achieving a balance between economic development and environmental and social requirements, as well as analyzing development policies in light of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Methodologically, I pay particular attention to spatial analysis and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, as these modern tools contribute to the analysis of spatial data and the production of thematic maps, thereby enhancing the accuracy of geographical studies and their ability to interpret phenomena and support planning and development.

My experience supervising students at the University of Duhok was a natural extension of my teaching and research career, contributing to the consolidation of the applied dimension of geographical and social knowledge.

From 2014 to 2018, I supervised fourth-year students in the Department of Social Studies at the College of Education during their graduation research phase. My focus was on guiding students toward selecting research topics related to geographical and social issues, assisting them in developing the theoretical and methodological framework of their research, and enhancing their skills in data collection and analysis according to scientific principles.

Since 2018, I have continued my supervisory work in the Department of Geography at the College of Education, supporting fourth-year students in preparing their graduation projects. This role has focused on promoting the use of modern methodologies in geographical research, encouraging students to utilize spatial analysis and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and developing their abilities to formulate results and connect them to theoretical and applied contexts.
